Jishui County (Chinese: 吉水县; Pinyin: Jíshǔi Xiàn) is a county located on the Gan River Ji'an city, Jiangxi province, China. It has an area of 2531.73 km² and a population of 480,000. It is located central of Jiangxi (central east of Ji'an city),196 km south of Nanchang (Capital of Jiangxi province), 23 km north from Ji'an. The local speech is a variety of Gan Chinese. The government of Jishui is located in Wenfeng town (文峰镇). ==History== Jishui has 1,300 years of history. It became a county during the Sui dynasty. There are many famous people from here, such as Ouyang Xiu(欧阳修), Yang Wanli(杨万里) (Song dynasty), Xie Jin(解缙) (Ming dynasty), Luo Hongxian (罗洪先) (Ming dynasty).
